An ordinary touch-tone telephone, ATA (Analog Telephone Adapter) and the power of high-speed Internet are used in a new technology called VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol). Our V2VIP Voice™ utilizes this technology to enable you to send and receive high-quality voice calls much the same way as if you were using traditional phone lines. Connect your existing phone into one of the jacks on the analog telephone adapter, then connect it to your broadband Internet modem or router. Call anyone when you want and talk for as long as you'd like, without worrying about an expensive phone bill. No computer is required. |

How does V2VIP Voice work?
The V2VIP Voice Calling Plan uses Voice over Internet Protocol. VoIP is a new way to make and receive telephone calls. It’s a technology that enables your voice conversations to be carried or transmitted over a broadband Internet connection and is directed to a traditional or regular telephone line. Dial the call the same as if making a normal PSTN (Public Switched Telephone Network) telephone call.
Is a computer required?
No, just a touch-tone analog telephone, the free HandyTone-386 ATA and high-speed Internet service.
Can I keep the same home phone number?
It’s possible, via Local Number Portability, for a US customer to keep the same home phone number. Wind Currents Communications will work with the telephone service provider and make every effort to help keep the existing home phone number, although WCCI cannot guarantee that this will be possible. Certain guidelines or
restrictions may not allow the provider to release the number.
How do I install the HandyTone-386 (HT-386) ATA?
- Connect a standard touch-tone analog telephone to FXS port1
- Insert a standard telephone cable into the LINE port of the HT-386 and connect the other end of the telephone cable to the wall jack.
- Insert the Ethernet cable into the LAN port of the HT-386 and connect the other end of the Ethernet cable to an uplink port (a router or modem).
- Insert the power adapter into the HandyTone-386 and connect it to the wall outlet.
- Refer to the User Manual for configuration information.
