All About Wind Currents
Wind Currents Communications, Inc. (d.b.a.: WCCI) is a wholly-owned New York subsidiary corporation of Wind Currents, Inc. (d.b.a.: Wind Currents Technology), a full-service videophone technology corporation. WCCI was established, in 2006, for the purpose of conducting a Voice-and-Video-over-IP business, comprised of videophone products and calling plan offerings.
Wind Currents Technology (WCT) celebrated its 9th anniversary in April 2006, as it continues to serve government and institutional clients and customers with high-quality, affordable videophone solutions for business, rural/home health care service delivery, judicial, and border security applications. In October 2005, WCT acquired manufacturing rights to the WC324-a portable, full-function videophone that delivers up to 18fps over PSTN-making Wind Currents the only U. S. corporation that specializes in manufacturing and sales of videophone technologies. For the next three-and-a-half years, WCT will be the sole distributor of a H.324 solution to the Department of Veterans Affairs, through a renewed contract recently awarded to a WCT reseller: KMEA Corporation-a disabled, veteran-owned business based in Orange County, California.
Both entities are located in Woodstock, New York, and are directed and managed by three officers: John P. Monahan, president and chief executive officer; Michel Washington McLaughlin (Los Angeles), vice president and in-house counsel; and Stephanye Boyd Monahan, senior vice president. Combined, the three executive bring over 100 years of experience to their Work-encompassing professional practice in the law, marketing communications with higher education, and business management on various levels of responsibility and in a diverse range of fields. They describe their selves as "plain folk," who have the savvy to know that open-mindness, practicality, diligence, creativity, integrity, and friendliness are keys to quality customer relations.
Wind Currents' commitment to service springs from a deep understanding of the value and benefits that videophone communication can bring to people in all walks of life and in all of the places of the world. Over the years, Wind Currents has built a solid reputation for the quality of its involvement in academic research studies and home healthcare pilot projects, as well as its willingness to explore creative partnerships and alliances-these are the attributes that emerge from a small company with great vision.
Understanding the ramifications of broadband, its applicability to video, when combined with audio, and the looming opportunities that await a company willing to step boldly into the market, Wind Currents Communications was established to take full advantage. This Work is undertaken with active intentions to: plan and execute strategies assiduously, design systems and services creatively, yet economically, and suffuse integrity in all matters. The intentions have radiated a particular energy that encircles WCCI with talented professional, partners, and affiliates.
Wind Currents, Inc. is a member of the Ulster Chamber of Commerce and the Minnesota Telehealth Association.
Many people ask about the name: Wind Currents …
By observing our feathered friends, one sees that each bird takes full advantage of the wind currents when airborne, thereby minimizing the need for constant flapping or self-generated movement. Surrendering their will, birds are apparently unconcerned with the direction or pattern of winds; rather, they allow winds to lift and carry them.
From the human vantage point, the birds in flow with the winds present a seemingly choreographed and beautiful dance, as they dip and spiral and glide. We translate this to human terms and imagine that if the courage can be summoned to simply Soar with the Changing Winds, our world become dynamic, richly refreshed, and vibrantly alive with great possibilities and the powers of the Universe, and so they are.
